Windows 11 Widgets Get an AI Overhaul with Copilot Discover

Microsoft is now testing a fresh widgets panel for Windows 11 that substitutes the MSN feed with Copilot Discover. This revamped layout, which differs from the former MSN feed setup yet resembles it, employs artificial intelligence to compile tales customized to user tastes and Copilot activity and deliver them in a simplified format.

Actually, the Copilot Discover feed appears to function at a considerably quicker rate with more fluid scrolling and animations. It is also less cluttered, highlighting stories in big boxes with clear text for better readability. Every narrative presented here continues to send people to the MSN site; it is just the feed that has been updated and converted into Copilot Discover.

In Copilot Discover, users may vote on the relevancy of the story, bookmark it for future reference, and follow or block certain news sources, as different options will appear when they hover over tales. Stories containing videos will also start playing automatically when hovered over.

A new Notifications button at the top of the feed draws attention to major news, weather changes, stock market movements, and other essential updates. Through Copilot Discover, users can personalize these notifications such that they may turn off particular alerts if they would rather not get them.

Microsoft is testing a tool in Copilot Discover that enables users to read stories right from the widget panel as well. Right now, clicking a story brings it up in the default browser, which could interrupt the user experience. Direct reading of stories in the widgets panel is by far a more effective choice. It’s great to see Microsoft making improvements and alterations to the Widgets Board on Windows 11

Given the poor participation from third-party developers in building widgets for this area, this function appears to have been somewhat overlooked in recent months. Microsoft is also going to let users personalize and pin these same widgets to the lock screen on Windows 11, therefore providing even more options for users.
