With a strong focus on cryptocurrency, PayPal launched a new peer-to-peer payment system designed especially for messaging programs on Monday. Through SMS, direct messages, or emails, PayPal Links lets customers send directly to their intended recipients a range of currencies.

Officially starting for customers in the United States, transmitting U.S. dollars today, the PayPal Links program is expected to soon include the encouragement of payments in other digital tokens, as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal’s stablecoin PYUSD. Decrypt contacted a PayPal representative for more information about the schedule of the crypto effort and to ask about which Future could bring more tokens, but a response was not immediately forthcoming, repercussions of Trump 401(k).

One-time customized links will improve the peer-to-peer payment system‘s convenience and security, the company said on Monday. PayPal Links function will let users of PayPal and Venmo easily trade certain crypto tokens directly between their accounts, as well as transmit tokens to other digital wallets that enable stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. The PayPal Links program will first start in the United States before later this month expanding to include the United Kingdom, Italy, and other nations.

PayPal has completely changed the movement between individuals for 25 years. Today, in a statement, Diego Scotti, general manager of PayPal’s consumer division, remarked, “We are now making the next big move. Sending emails means your money now follows your chats.” PayPal enables in-app Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PYUSD purchases in addition to supporting Solana, Chainlink, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.

In addition to the greater user flexibility, tax consequences are a major benefit emphasized in today’s statement. On Monday, the business stressed that 1099-K reporting rules do not apply to cryptocurrency transfers between friends and family made through PayPal and Venmo and will not require further tax papers. PayPal, as of now, supports in-app crypto purchases for Ethereum, Bitcoin and PYUSD, along with Litecoin, Solana, Chainlink as well and Bitcoin Cash.
