Google’s AI Mode Goes Agentic: Now Books Event Tickets and Beauty Appointments

Google has enhanced its AI Mode with new agentic features that let U.S. Search Labs users book tickets and appointments through natural language commands. While still experimental, the update marks a shift toward more proactive, action-oriented search experiences

Googles AI Mode gains agentic capabilities

By adding more proactive features to its ‘AI Mode’ tool, Google is improving its search experience. From arranging appointments at beauty and wellness businesses to booking concert and event tickets, users in the U.S. participating in its experimental Search Labs initiative may now request the system to settle difficult real-world tasks.

Today, we're bringing agentic capabilities to AI Mode in Search for Google AI Ultra subscribers. But… what is actually different?

Until recently, AI Mode had mostly helped with restaurant reservations by locating available seats for given party numbers, dates, cuisines, and neighbourhoods. Users now have far more open-ended prompts thanks to the new expansion. One may say, for instance, find me two affordable tickets for the Shaboozey concert; standing floor preferred. The program then searches across several ticket platforms, gathers live choices, and offers carefully selected links so the user can finish the booking without exiting the search interface.

The introduction of these tools signals the second stage of Google’s foray into ‘agentic’ artificial intelligence systems that act for consumers rather than merely answer questions. Google, on the other hand, stresses that this is still an early experiment; the corporation notes that delivery of these services will vary and that mistakes may occur. From a user perspective, the effects are major: consumers now communicate using natural language commands rather than physically going from search results to ticket- or appointment-pages. That ease turns the search engine into a catalyst for action, not only an information gateway.

Google is linking these features behind the scenes to its pledge of high-quality information you can depend on. There are, nevertheless, some drawbacks. As of now, it is restricted to U.S. users who have opted into Search Labs. Premium members, those on Google AI Pro or Google AI Plus, enjoy faster performance and higher usage levels. Google has also emphasised that although AI Mode is currently present in over 180 nations, these sophisticated booking tools are still in the experimental phase.
